Who says courtesy is out of fashion now?? I met two nice and caring aunties last week. First auntie in the hospital, at the walkway on my way home. I was rushing home, with hands on the phone tapping SMS to supernova, I think and was wearing my sling bag with the bag at the back.. One nice auntie came to me and said,
"Assalamualaikum.. Don't face your bag to the back. People can do anything without you realizing it including putting drugs into your bag." I was speechless and replied her with a big smile and said "Thank you".

That's the entrance to the ballroom lobby
where the glamorous was taken place |
Second auntie in Surau at the Marriot Hotel. They were having some KL Islamic Fashion Festival there. I wasn't attending it.. came straight from work to accompany a friend of mine who wanted to pick up something from Star Hill. Couldn't find a Surau in Star Hill. Is there a Surau there? Anyway, had to go to the hotel's surau... Felt so small, with my non-glamorous work attire I entered the lobby of the grand ballroom to see beautiful and elegant looking ladies and gentlemen. So do not belong there! So, being a forgetful and careless me, I left my laptop bag as well as my had handbag at the back and prayed.. As I finished, an auntie asked me,
"Is this yours? Be careful.. Next time put it in front of you and don't leave it like this. I have lost my belongings just last week in a surau too." So ashamed of myself.. 29 year-old yet do not know how to take care of my stuff, could not say more than.. "Thank you".
See...
Courtesy is not out of fashion.. So come on, bring courtesy back into our culture. Another message of the day... make sure things are in front of you... not at the back!
And don't forget the bangladeshi uncle at The Daily Grind who picked up your bag while we were eating(that fell down when you put behind you! :p)
ReplyDeleteThank you uncle!
